Have an AHIMSA New Year

Ahimsa is a Sanskrit word for non-killing and non-harming. It is not mere passiveness, but a positive method of meeting the dilemmas and decisions of daily life. In the western world, we call it Dynamic Harmlessness. The six pillars of this dynamic philosophy for modern life (one for each letter: A-H-I-M-S-A) are:

ABSTINENCE FROM ANIMAL PRODUCTS
HARMLESSNESS WITH REVERENCE FOR LIFE
INTEGRITY OF THOUGHT, WORD, AND DEED
MASTERY OVER ONESELF
SERVICE TO HUMANITY, NATURE, AND CREATION
ADVANCEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING AND TRUTH

Peace to you this new year!

Logo idea

I think my current logo is super cute but I just can't help playing around with other graphics and such.  Here's an idea I'm playing with.  I know for "branding" sakes you need to keep your logo consistent and blah blah blah but I can never leave well enough alone.

Ideas for next Tattoo

I really want a bunny tattoo.  The hottie hubby and I have appointments in February and I think I want something like this, not so blocky and with the heart "stitched" on.  I think it speaks to my love of animals, sewing, and pet adoption. Rabbits stand up like this when they're feeling curious...that's a good trait to keep on hand!
Now for the where (to put it) and color ideas.  I'll leave some of that up to the tattoo artist (Jen of Monarch Tattoo in NJ, amazing shop!).  Can't wait to get my "hip hop" on!

PS, found this stamp at etsy.

Angel Tattoo!

Here's the angel tattoo I talked about a while ago.  I already had the (lame) arm band under the angel and plan to have it amended to be a bunch of old timey roses in the future.  The amazing artist that painted the original is Claudia Garcia and the tattoo artist is Jay Nice from Jinx Proof Tattoo in Montclair NJ

Flashback Craftin'

In another life I was a quilter.  I was just looking back at some of my projects and came across this one I made for a Fabric Trends magazine.  I sometimes forget about all the "stuff" I've made and it amazes me that I had a hand in so many projects.  The idea of this quilt is that you can have a perpetual calendar of family birthdays. The white Xs have birthdates and names written on them. Some of the little gifts at the bottom zip open up so you can place a lovely wee gifty inside. (buttons! earrings! candy!)  I'm proud of this piece and may make another one some day. (sorry to say the quilt kit is no longer available)
